GROUP PROFILE
The
Food & Allied Group of Companies is today a major player in diversified areas, such as poultry farming and processing, animal feed, flour, dairy and food processing. Several agro business projects have been recently launched.
In addition, the Group operates a large food distribution supply chain, quick service restaurants as well as a range of services, including grain handling and warehousing, freight and transit, advertising and IT solutions.
More recently,
Indigo Hotels and Resorts, a member of the
Food & Allied Group, has optimised the vibrant growth of the hospitality industry by launching two additional top quality hotels,
Le Suffren Hotel & Marina and
Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort. Indigo has further launched into an Integrated Resort Scheme (IRS) project.
The
Food & Allied Group of Companies employs around 3,000 persons in Mauritius and abroad, all of whom benefit from ongoing training opportunities, in line with the corporate vision and human growth objectives. The Group is committed to quality products and services driven by strong values, which have been central to its development over forty years.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Education
The future of Mauritius greatly depends on the quality of educational.
It is unfortunate that illiteracy is still high among children.
In recent years, the Food & Allied Group has taken the following steps to foster better education, particularly with regard to employees’ children.
Chantecler Foundation – Secondary & Technical studies
The group is committed to supporting employees’ children during their secondary education. This assistance has been extended to technical school level. Based on some criteria, employees contribute and can have access to different levels of funding. Hundreds of children have benefited from the scheme since 1981. The Chantecler Foundation, responsible for this project, can be proud of its achievements, including helping Laureates in recent years.
Tertiary studies
The group is putting the final touch to a different scheme aimed at supporting employees’ children who wish to undertake tertiary studies.
The partnership between Food & Allied and the University of Mauritius
The University of Mauritius is making a, excellent contribution to the future of Mauritius. Each year, the Group will reward the best student of The Agriculture, Engineering, Law and Management, Science and Social Science faculties. In addition, the group provides guest lecturers who can bring to students a “real world perspective”.
Literacy courses
Finally,
Societe Madco Formation offers literacy courses to employees who need it most.
Fond de Solidarité
A large number of individuals, families or NGOs turn to the Food & Allied Group of Companies for assistance in hardship cases. The fund allocates amounts depending on the needs. Companies of the group contribute large amounts to that fund.

ENVIRONMENT
The Food & Allied Group demonstrates a great respect for the environment.
Preserving the environment and managing issues such as waste management are priorities for all companies of the Group. For example,
Tropical Paradise Company Ltd., which runs the Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel and Le Suffren Hotel & Marina, has won major awards such as Green Globe Certification for its performance in that area.
'Environment Day' is celebrated by companies of the Group.
