Maurifoods Ltd was created in 1974 and this company was re-formed in 1980 as New Maurifoods Ltd.

Structured for flexibility, the company produces canned vegetables and grains, tomato puree, fruit juices, jams, jellies and an assortment of preserves as well as a range of canned chicken meals under its own brand Regal and under licence from Royal Bourbon.

Prepared meats include franks, sausages, luncheon meat and burgers under its respected Regal, Cuisto and Farmstead brands.

The company also manufactures special products for Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) outlets. An international franchise agreement with Farmor of France aims at strengthening poultry processing and supplying the local and regional markets with higher-end specialty products like fingers, burgers, nuggets and Cordon Bleu.

A separate unit produces canned and frozen pet food for the local market under the Mixi and Supreme labels.

NML has a production capacity of 40,000 metal cans and jars a day and five tones of poultry meat products daily.

Product quality, ongoing training of its personnel and strict hygienic standards of operation have always been high on NML priorities, as evidenced by its certification to ISO 9001-2000 and HACCP quality system norms.
