GROUP HISTORY
The origins of the Food & Allied Group of Companies go back to 1966 with the setting up of the first company, Food & Allied Industries Ltd. As a pioneer in the poultry industry, the company specialised in the production of table chicken, hence enabling the country to reduce the volume of its food imports. Food & Allied Industries Ltd has constantly expanded over time going from a weekly production of 400 chickens to one of almost 150,000 today.
Other activities have gradually been added up to the sole production of table chickens to achieve the twenty or so companies shaping the Food & Allied Group of Companies today.
After settling its local presence in various sectors such as the food industry, hotel, shipping, business services and commerce, the group crossed the frontiers of Mauritius to carry out its activities in the region.
The group places a strong emphasis on a long tradition of values shared among all employees. The group has a strong culture that has been central to its development over the forty years and based on universal values such as respect and integrity. Moreover, all employees benefit from ongoing training opportunities in line with the corporate vision and human growth initiatives.
