Committed to freshness and quality
Food safety, quality and freshness…This sums up the vision of the Mauritian government when the idea of a flour
mill starts to sprout in the 80s. In 1989, les Moulins de la Concorde (LMLC) finally accepts to meet the challenge.
Its mission: Ensure the country's supply in high-quality fresh flour, a foodstuff that forms part of the daily diet of all Mauritians.
For the past 20 years, LMLC has successfully faced up this high responsibility towards both the nation and the region.
By keeping a strategic stock of wheat all the year round and producing flour according to the national needs, the
flour mill has played an essential part in the country's food security.
Thanks to a modern technological process under the supervision of professional millers, the wheat is ground daily
according to the plant's quality policies. LMLC produces a total of ten flour varieties. For each foodstuff, there
is a specific flour type to match the tastes of a multicultural population with varied food habits.
The contribution of LMLC goes beyond flour. Bran, a co-product of wheat, is a major asset for animal feed.
With an added value representing some Rs 3 billion since its inception, Les Moulins de la Concorde is an invaluable
contribution to the Mauritian economy.
